Tony Vickers was the heavyweight boxing champion of Australia from 1961-64 and played front row for Applecross.

Trevor Maybank switched from union to league in the 70s and picked up a first grade best and fairest for Cottesloe in 1970, a minor premiership in 1974 and a first grade premierships in 1979.

Val Murphy's service to the game in WA is legendary. From playing, to coaching kids and working with schools development throughout the State.

Wally Eves' introduction to the game came courtesy of Ken Allen, and Wally went on to become a tireless volunteer at the Willagee club, before roles with the WARL. A journalist, Wally ensured the game always got some decent coverage in the local media.
