1969

Applecross beat North Beach 17-16 in Grand Final. State team plays two games in Darwin for two wins. North Sydney visits Perth.

1970

Western Australia play Brisbane U 21s at Davis Park and NT at the SCG. Historical Meeting of all Leagues In Brisbane. Applecross win their sixth Premiership against Victoria Park.

1971

Rugby League news reported the game is thriving in Western Australia, as Balmain became the latest club to visit, beating WA 15-6. Perth lose to WA Country rep side Pilbara 21-20.

1972

Applecross win their seventh Grand Final in Eleven straight years (1962-1972) of Grand Final appearances. Western Australia wins against Northern Territory 6-3.

1973

South Perth win their first Premiership Grade final since 1958 against North Beach 16-5. Victoria beat Western Australia 13-9 in Victoria.

1974

Perth City played the Pilbara and the Goldfields on the 16 and 23rd June respectively. This was the third time the Country sides had played against City. North Beach won the first grade Premiership.

1975

Western Australia play England at Perry Lakes stadium and competes in inaugural Pacific Cup in Port Moresby. South Perth win premiership over Fremantle 8-7

1976

Belmont Oval in danger of being taken from WARL. Fremantle takes out Grand Final 13-7 over Victoria Park. South Sydney beat WA in AMCO Cup.

1977

Western Australia competes in Pacific Cup , beats PNG, and makes final against NZ Māori at Carlaw Park, Auckland. Fremantle wins premiership over South Perth 20-10

1978

Perth City takes on South Sydney under lights at Cannington going down 19-2 after a brave fight. Canning Bulldogs take out Grand Final 4-0 against South Perth in wet at Cannington Central.

1979

Western Australia Rugby League in for a big year with some new faces around the clubs and some quality coaches joining the competition. Mosman Cottesloe take first Premiership since 1955.

Minor premiers North Beach and Mosman-Cottesloe fight out the 1980 Grand Final and end in an 18 all draw after extra time failed to separate them. A week later a charged up North Beach secures the win.
