1951

An application has been made to stage the game between WA and the touring French side at WACA grounds. It would be France's last match home after their tour of the Eastern States.

In 1951 depending on who's history you read either a breakaway group from the Nedlands Rugby Union club changed over to Rugby League or the whole club changed over. Nevertheless they played in the competition from 1951-1953 and the Rugby Union continued a Nedlands club which competed in 1951 under what is described as difficult times on their web page. In 1954 the clubs amalgamated/rejoined  and re-entered the Union competition. A number of players stayed with Rugby League notably Bob Sampson who teamed up with Cottesloe.
